Especially adept at helping to maintain the youthful glow of healthy skin, Clear + Brilliant® is an excellent addition to your regular skincare regimen. A simple in-office treatment with the professionals at Kaiser Permanente can keep your skin looking its very best.
About Clear + Brilliant®
Clear + Brilliant® is a type of fractional laser, similar to Fraxel®, that creates thousands of tiny pinpoint beams of laser energy to penetrate skin and stimulate the skin’s regenerative process from within. Fractional lasers typically require less downtime than other types of lasers, since the microchannels they create are surrounded by healthy, untouched skin. Although these lasers are gentler, their results are no less significant when performed as indicated.
What Is Treatment Like?
Clear + Brilliant® is typically administered with the use of a topical anesthetic to keep you comfortable throughout the brief, 20- to 30-minute treatment. Your provider passes the laser handpiece over your skin as it emits pulses of laser energy. This energy and the microscopic injuries made beneath your skin stimulate your skin to repair itself, which includes the production of new collagen.
Am I a Good Candidate?
Clear + Brilliant® is a popular option among younger patients who want to get a head start in the anti-aging game. It also may be appropriate for people who wish to improve the tone and overall condition of their skin without significant side effects. Clear + Brilliant® helps effectively treats the following concerns:
- Dull skin
- Enlarged pores
- Irregular or rough texture
What Can I Expect Before and After Treatment?
Before treatment, your provider will apply a topical numbing cream that takes approximately 30 minutes to take effect.
After your treatment with Clear + Brilliant®, you may wish to take the remainder of the day off from work or other obligations. It’s important to keep your skin protected from the sun in the immediate days after treatment. Remember to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen product even if you’re only outside for a few minutes. This ensures that your skin heals properly. Your provider may recommend recurring treatments to help maintain your results.
What Should I Look for in a Laser Practitioner?
The treatment should be performed by a registered nurse (RN) or physician who’s trained to operate a laser. Different treatment choices must be made for each patient. Side effects such as skin discoloration can result if the laser is operated by an inexperienced practitioner. At Kaiser Permanente, we provide only laser trained RNs or physicians to deliver high-quality care to our patients.
Are There Any Risks?
Clear + Brilliant® is safe for patients of various ethnic backgrounds and skin types, so there’s little risk of discoloration or other lasting effects. Your skin may look and feel slightly inflamed for several days after treatment, which is normal. Keeping skin protected from the sun will reduce this sensation and ensure skin heals normally.
