Christian Conderman, MD
Job TitleHead and Neck Surgeon
I was born in Kansas and moved to Heidelberg, Germany when I was three years old. While overseas, I attended Department of Defense schools until I was 18. Upon graduating from high school, I returned to Kansas to attend the University of Kansas where I obtained a BA in Chemistry. I subsequently attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City. During my time in medical school, I developed an affinity for head and neck anatomy and had always wanted to pursue a career in a surgical field. As such, head and neck surgery seemed like a natural choice. After medical school, I moved to southern California to complete my internship and residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of California Irvine Medical Center.
During my 5 years in residency, I thoroughly enjoyed gaining experience in all aspects of head and neck surgery but ultimately found myself most passionate about facial plastic & reconstructive surgery. This is especially true of functional and cosmetic nasal surgery due to the intricate and unique anatomy associated with this type of surgery. As a result, I chose to pursue additional training and completed a fellowship in facial plastics with Dr. Russell Kridel in Houston. This provided me with the opportunity to refine my knowledge and surgical acumen in both the cosmetic and reconstructive arenas within head and neck surgery. I ultimately stayed in Houston as an assistant professor in the department of otorhinolaryngology-head & neck surgery at the University of Texas McGovern Medical School and served as a faculty member for 2 years while developing a facial plastics practice and also having the opportunity to work with residents and medical students at one of the greater Houston area’s county hospitals fulfilling a need for Houston’s under-served population.
In addition to my clinical background, I have authored and co-authored book chapters and journal articles for professional publications on topics including rhinoplasty grafts and techniques, upper lid blepharoplasty, and liposuction of the face and neck. My practice philosophy is one that is based on forthright and open communication. I believe that my first responsibility is to develop rapport with my patients to allow me to provide care in a compassionate and individualized manner.

Family and Friends
While I am originally from Kansas, I grew up in Germany to a German Mother and American Father while he was stationed overseas and worked as an attorney for the US Army. I still have many relatives in Germany and like to visit them as often as possible. I also have family in Kansas and have enjoyed living in many different places both in the US and internationally.
Hobbies and interests
I enjoy playing and following soccer (English Premier League, Bundesliga and Champions League), running (I’ve completed two half marathons and hope to do more following my move to Northern California), traveling (recent and forthcoming trips include Japan, Germany, Spain and Portugal) and learning languages (as noted above, I am fluent in German and Spanish and am taking Japanese classes in anticipation of my trip there).
