About Me

I grew up in San Jose, California, and graduated from Gunderson High School. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley. I went to medical school at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. My general surgery and vascular surgery training were completed at Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital in Portland, Oregon.

I specialized in vascular surgery to improve the quality of life of my patients. As a vascular surgeon, I am able to know my patients over a long period of time and am able to perform intricate operations. I am interested in carotid surgery and peripheral vascular disease, as well as repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms via open and endovascular techniques.

I believe that patients with peripheral vascular disease can be active participants in their care. Risk factors for atherosclerosis-including high cholesterol, tobacco use, high blood pressure and inactivity-can be modified through a team approach. The physicians, including internist, cardiologists, radiologists, and vascular surgeons, can provide advice and offer medications that can benefit the patient with peripheral vascular disease. Surgery can be offered if the disease process progresses. The patient can actively participate by exercising regularly, monitoring their diet, and trying to stop smoking if they are currently doing so. With this team approach, the complications of peripheral vascular disease can be minimized.

I joined Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center to focus solely on the practice of vascular surgery, serving my home community.
