About Me

I was born in the Philippines, but have been living here in the United States since 1969. After receiving my medical degree from the University of Texas, Houston, Medical School, I completed a general surgical residency at the Boston University Surgical Program. I obtained further training by completing a vascular surgery fellowship at the Lahey Clinic, and, most recently, at the University of Rochester. I am board-certified with the American Board of Surgery in the specialty of vascular surgery. Professionally, I have a special interest in distal extremity revascularization. I am located in Building A on the main medical center campus.

Besides being a surgeon, I also view myself as an educator for my patients. Since not all vascular disease requires a procedure, I fully believe that teaching my patients about managing their disease and medical risks is just as important as performing invasive therapy. I also believe that the patient and family should be active participants in their own care. With this type of partnership, there exists a greater chance of improving a patient’s well-being.

Hobbies and interests

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two boys. I also enjoy running, bicycling, skiing, reading, computers, and soccer.
