PRP For Hair Loss

What Is PRP?

PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. It’s a natural treatment that uses your own blood to help restore thinning hair and improve scalp health. PRP is especially helpful for people experiencing early hair loss or thinning hair.

How Does It Work?

  1. We draw a small amount of your blood.
  2. The blood is spun in a special machine to separate out the platelets, which are rich in growth factors.
  3. The PRP is injected into your scalp, where it helps wake up hair follicles and encourage healthy new hair growth.

These growth factors help strengthen existing hair and may even reactivate dormant hair follicles.

What to Expect

  • Each treatment takes about 30–45 minutes.
  • You may feel small pinches during the injections.
  • Your scalp may feel tender, slightly swollen, or red for a day or two.

Before Your Treatment

To prepare for PRP:

  • Avoid alcohol and anti-inflammatory medications (like ibuprofen or aspirin) for 3–5 days before treatment.
  • Drink plenty of water and eat a light meal before your appointment.
  • Let us know if you take any medications or have any health conditions.

After Your Treatment

  • You can return to normal activities the same day.
  • Avoid washing your hair or using hair products for at least 6 hours.
  • Skip heavy exercise, heat styling, and sun exposure for 24–48 hours.

Some mild soreness or redness on the scalp is normal and should go away quickly.

Results & Frequency

  • Hair shedding may decrease in a few weeks.
  • New hair growth is usually noticeable in 3 to 6 months.
  • A full treatment plan usually includes 3–6 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
  • Maintenance treatments every 6–12 months help keep your results going.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

PRP works best for:

  • Men and women with early hair thinning
  • People with hereditary hair loss (androgenic alopecia)
  • Anyone wanting a natural treatment without surgery or medications

PRP may not be effective for complete baldness or scarring hair loss, and it’s not recommended if you have certain blood disorders or medical conditions.
