Daniel Sukato, MD
Job TitleFacial Plastic Surgeon
Welcome to my profile. I’m a fellowship-trained facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Kaiser Permanente Oakland and Richmond Medical Centers. I have the unique privilege of being trained in cosmetic facial surgery as well as head and neck microvascular reconstruction. I was one of the select few otolaryngologists every year to have received an accredited training by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS).
I was born in Los Angeles, California but grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia. I returned to California during high school and subsequently pursued my advanced education in the east coast. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and moved to New York to complete my otolaryngology – head and neck surgery training at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. After five years of intensive surgical training, I then subspecialized in facial plastic and microvascular reconstruction at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where I trained with some of the best plastic surgeons in the Westwood/Beverly Hills area.
During my training at UCLA, I was selected by the AAFPRS to win the 2022 Sir Harold Def Gillies award, given for the best scientific research project among facial plastic fellows nationwide.
I am excited to call Kaiser Permanente the place where I now practice and to call the East Bay my home. My goal is to bring best-evidenced medicine and surgery while providing compassionate and collaborative care to my patients and community.
